Commissions
What you get when you order a commission:
•All commissions come with one of “my” background styles included in the price. (Of course, if you’d like no background that is no problem)
•A 15 minute Zoom call to talk through your commission and any ideas.
•My portraits are created in coloured pencil, using only high quality Faber Castell Polychromos, Caran D'Ache Pablos and Luminance and Derwent Lightfast oil based pencils.
•I use Clairefontaine Pastelmat and Grafix Drafting Film - both wonderful surfaces to capture colour and texture, so perfect for animal portraits.
•Every portrait is mounted with backing board.
•Your quote is effective for 3 months. To book a space a 40% deposit is required
•Prices are based on one head and shoulders, and the sizes are based on paper size, your portrait will be a good size within the paper area.
•Postage is included for the UK.
•Additional subjects within a portrait are charged at +40%
•Full bodies are charged +40% of the original portrait price
•2xA4 prints of your commission
These sizes and prices are a rough guide, I would be happy to quote on other sizes however, I don't create smaller pieces due to the amount of detail in the portraits.
Please contact me if you require a larger size.

Tips to get “the” shot
Use a good quality smartphone or digital camera.
Shoot at eye level, and close enough that your pet fills most of the frame.
Choose a cloudy day if possible. Diffused, natural light often brings out the most detail and colour.
Hold the camera as steadily as you can, for a nice sharp image.
Take advantage of moments when your pet is calm and restful. If this isn't possible, have treats/toys ready, to keep them from wandering off! Their favourite treat is you, though, so interact or play with them if you need.
Try to capture the character and natural expression - it's all in the eyes!
